Jack Lothian is known as a screenwriter for film and television. He has written episodes for Ashes to Ashes, Shameless, and the Halycon. He served as the showrunner and lead writer on the HBO/ Cinemax adventure series Strike Back. To add to his outstanding resume, Jack has penned short stories for several publications, including Helios Quarterly Magazine and Hinnom Magazine. No stranger to dark tales, Jack’s Red Hollows rips into the heart of the Out of Frame Anthologies theme. The swirling subconscious darkness unknowingly looming over the head of his main character was a spectacular read for the judges and having the story set in the horror-filled decade of the ’80s was a plus in itself.

S.J. Sims is a published poet and author from Southern Ohio.  She’s performed at Women of Appalachia: Women Speak and wrote a featured story in My Scioto Valley Magazine. When she is not writing or reading, she is trying to figure out social media and its many quirks.  S.J’s story Deadline barely made the deadline of the Out of Frame Anthologies contest but the last-minute submission impressed the judges. Her dark fiction about writer’s block when paired with the killer pressure of a looming deadline was an instant fit into the anthology of murder, madness, and creativity.

Rhiannon Robertson is a writer with a wandering heart originally from the South coast of England. She has been funding her intrepid travels by working as a freelancer and blogger, whilst pursuing her ultimate passion – her fictional prose. Rhiannon’s entry Ouroboros immediately captured the judges’ attention. Her tale focused on the desperate ordeal of an artistically barren painter struggling to revitalize his creativity. The path to virtuosity requires sacrifice and his greed to exceed his artistic limits begins to eat itself.
