The Out of Frame project began with five guys. No grand vision. No grand concept. Just a love for cinema and the process of creation. The project could have been anything, a documentary, a comedy, an action-adventure but it revealed itself as a dark thriller. The unveiling came after three of the five submitted general but uniquely different directions for a film plot. As a result, everyone agreed to use the concept of “an artist yearning for a simple life desperate to escape his dangerous past.” Then the three wrote a full story treatment centered on the idea. It was then that the team unanimously voted to follow a photographer with a sorted tainted past running from a man who wants him dead. Damien Drake and his tormentor John Godewynn were born.
